Facility Services I

Probationary for 90 days, then moved to Full-time. Pay range from $8.50 to $10.50/hour.

Will have primary responsibility for assisting in completing event set-up, tear-down and cleaning before, during and after events in the Arena, Opera House and Convention Center. Additionally, during non-event times, will complete routine custodial or maintenance tasks throughout the facility.

• Maintain restrooms cleanliness and stocking before, during and after events, and non-event times.
• Maintains cleanliness of event space to include public/common areas.
• Light duty set up/strike (table cleaning, sweeping floors, bussing tables, etc.)
• Assist in departmental tasks (cleaning seating areas, sweeping arena, etc.) as assigned
• Complete daily office custodial routines.

Must be able to operate/use vacuums and basic hand equipment utilized in this position. Must have the ability to communicate in English effectively both verbally and in writing. Must have ability to read and comprehend various work documents and labels. Must have a basic understanding of chemicals and equipment, which are assigned for use to this position. Must be able to work flexible hours, nights, weekends, and holidays when required. Job requires the ability to perform the following physical movements and functions, with or without an accommodation: Standing, walking, lifting, carrying (85%); Repetitive stooping, bending, and climbing (15%). Weights involved in routine lifting: 15 to 35 lbs.

Facility Services II

Probationary for 90 days, then moved to Full-time. Pay range from $9.25 to $11.50/hour.

Will have primary responsibility for assisting in completing event set-up, tear-down and cleaning before, during and after events in the Arena, Opera House and Convention Center. Additionally, during non-event times, will complete routine custodial or maintenance tasks throughout the facility.

•  Assist in set/strike of all events throughout the complex.
•  Assist with the assembly/disassembly of stages or dance floors according to guidelines and specified requirements received from supervisor.
•  Set and remove admission control equipment.
•  Sweep, mop and/or scrub floors, seating areas, walls, restrooms, etc. utilizing manual equipment.
•  Strip, wax and buff tile floors according to guidelines and specified requirements received from supervisor.
•  Clean/shampoo carpet in complex.
•  Routine custodial service to entire complex during non-event times.
•  Custodial service - before, during and after events.

Must have the ability to communicate in English effectively both verbally and in writing. Basic math and reading skills are required. Must have ability to read and comprehend actions listed and drawn on an event sheet. Must have a basic understanding of chemicals and equipment, which are assigned for use to this position. Must be able to work flexible hours, nights, weekends, and holidays when required. Requires a full range of body motions including vision and hearing in a normal range. Frequently works under stressful working conditions, irregular hours and tight time deadlines. Job requires the ability to perform the following physical movements and functions, with or without an accommodation: Standing, walking, lifting, carrying (85%); Repetitive stooping, bending, and climbing (15%). Weights involved in routine lifting: 15 to 35 lbs.

Rupp Arena Seasonal Part-Time Jobs

Rupp Arena will host a Job Fair Saturday, September 16 from 10:00am to 2:00pm to staff up for the 2017-18 busy event season. Starting in September, seasonal positions must be filled in departments such as Security, Guest Services, Concessions and the Ticket Office.
