Volunteers Needed for Upcoming Exhibition
Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition
Lexington, KY (July 17, 2013) – Lexington Center Museum & Gallery is seeking volunteers to help guide visitors through Titanic’s voyage during Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition. The exhibition opens October 5 and runs through January 26. Volunteer opportunities will be available seven days a week, and will be scheduled in 4-hour shifts. Specialized training and materials to enhance visitors’ experience will be provided.
A two part training series is required. The first session is Lexington Center Museum & Gallery orientation. There are two available dates from which to choose; August 14 at 10 am and August 15 at 6 pm. Volunteers must attend one or the other available sessions. The second session, which is exhibition specific, is scheduled for October 2 and 3 at 2 pm. Again, volunteers must attend one of the two October training sessions. The museum will be open Sunday through Thursday from 11 am to 8 pm. On Friday and Saturday, the hours are 10 am to 10 pm. The Lexington Center Museum and Gallery is located on the second floor of Lexington Center.
Drawing over 25 million visitors worldwide, participants will come face-to-face with artifacts such as delicate vials of perfume, china bearing the logo of the White Star Line, and over 125 additional objects recovered from the debris field of the wreck site.
Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition is organized by Premier Exhibitions, Inc, and RMS Titanic, Inc. which is the sole salvor-in-possession to the wreck site of Titanic, and owner of the collection of over 5,500 artifacts that have been recovered from the wreck site of Titanic.
